Psalm 119-Part 14
For ever, O LORD, Thy Word is settled in heaven. Ps. 119:89
LET IT GLOW
Stanza 12, verses 89-96
Are you looking for a sure thing, something you can depend upon to never change. Friend, we have found it today in this stanza. Look at our key verse above to find David's answer.
In the Hebrew language, in which the Old Testament is written, Word refers to a matter or thing.
(I capitalize it because Word refers to The Holy Bible.)
How did every tiny bit of matter and every thing begin? It was in the beginning of creation, that it all began with a Word of God as He spoke each thing and matter into being. We read about it in Genesis chapter 1. I don't know how many times the Bible records that God and Jesus spoke to people after that. It must be a large number.
Not only is God's Word settled and unchangeable, but it is far from our reach-Thy Word is settled in heaven. We can't change it. god works all things together four our good and His glory.
Falwell says it this way
Because of its perfect author, precise inscription, and permanent habitation, the Word of God is unsurpassable, undeniable, and unchangeable. When we look confidently to the Word of Promise and daily trust the provision of God's grace, we are testifying not only to our salvation by God's grace, but also to the fact that "For ever, O LORD, Thy Word is settled in heaven" (vs. 89).
Since God is the same and never changes, there are no variables with Him. His Word is proof.
Have you considered that when God speaks, nothing remains the same.
He spoke; it was so; it was good (Genesis 1:3-4). Whenever God revealed His plans, things happened just as He said, and God considered the result "good" (Philippians 2:13). Whenever Jesus spoke, what He said came to pass. There never was a time when Jesus spoke that what He said did not happen. Experiencing God Day-By-Day)
Have we been reading God's Word without experiencing His Word that transforms everything around us? The Pharisees thought it was the law that gave them life instead of experiencing the person who spoke the Words of life.
Since it is settled in heaven, whatever your "it" is, then why are we worrying about "it"?
LET IT GROW
The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider Thy testimonies. (verse 95)
When we look confidently to the Word of Promise and daily trust the provision of God's grace, we are testifying not only to our salvation by God's grace, but also to the fact that "For ever, O LORD, Thy Word is settled in heaven (verse 89). Falwell
What are we considering? Evil is always lurking around believers is Jesus Christ to put a stumbling block in their way so we will sin or give up our faith. The devil wants to destroy us, but Almighty God is making us new every morning whenever we surrender to Him. Great is His faithfulness!
God's testimonies secure us in our salvation, in the power of God, give us strength to pick up the pieces and take another step by faith, and have support for our thoughts.
When I think of Queen Easter, God placed her in that position for such a critical time for the Jews so they would be saved and not massacred. Where has God placed you? There are hurting people all around us. Are we going to His loving arms that are needed in their lives?
LET IT GO
I lay my burdens at Your feet, Jesus.
Lord, this thing weighing on me has a good ending, for You have settled it in heaven.
