Brr, Liven Us Up

O. T. #1372  "Brr, Liven Us Up"

Psalm 119-Part 21
Thou art near O LORD; and all Thy commandments are truth. Psalm 119:151

LET IT GLOW

Stanza 19, verses 145-152

Isn't it comforting to know that God is near us?

Near refers near in place, kindred, or time.

When trouble is near, children of God need to remember that God is near. No trouble can separate us. He isn't far away for us to seek, but within a call for help, whether aloud or under our breath. His provisions are available-strength, comfort, protection, wisdom.
So we can face whatever because we are trusting in the LORD Jehovah. Just call and He will answer.

LET IT GROW

What does it take to liven you up? Maybe caffeine in a hot drink. Or a lively tune on the radio. Could it be the love of God spreading across your heart, snatching out those discouragements?

The word quicken appears in verses 149, 154, 156, and 159.

...O LORD, quicken me according to Thy judgment. (verse 149)

Quicken means to revive, to live, be whole, keep alive.

David is in need of God's grace, comfort, and reviving. He desires to be stirred up, lively, and cheerful. Now, I ask you, "Who couldn't use a little of that about now?" When the cold winter wind keeps blowing, ice or snow is about us, and the sunshine seems so far away. But nothing like a cup of hot tea and Christian music to get me going again. Let's praise the Lord that He is near and wants to make us alive once again. Feel it in your bones and soul. He makes us whole. Liven us up, Jesus.

LET IT GO

Thank You Jesus that You never leave me nor forsake me.
Liven me up today.
