Kingdom Work

 N.T.#556 "Kingdom Work"

Luke 10

LET IT GLOW

Beginning in Galilee, Jesus won the hearts of many followers. He ministered to and taught the 12, but also many others. It was a count down time as Jesus faced the inevitable in Jerusalem. Jesus sent out 35 teams, with 70 followers, to prepare the cities for His visit. (verse 1)

What can the laborers expect according to Swindoll?

  • The labor force is few. (verse 2)
  • Pray that the Lord of the harvest would send more laborers.
  • Jesus sent them as lambs among the wolves. (verse 3)
  • The travel amenities are not ideal. (verse 4a)
  • The pay depends on others. (verse7)
  • The message can be rejected. (verse 10) Repentance and hearing that one is a sinner is not easy to hear and admit.
  • Obedience can be alienating. (verse 11)
It was a realistic evaluation of the mission. Jesus prepared the group for reality. God is responsible for the harvest. The laborers are to be faithful in sharing the Gospel. Sharing the Good News of Jesus is not just for preachers and missionaries. Some people have not heard yet. Are you willing to be a part of kingdom work? Ministering in your neighborhood and family may be where you are being sent. Others are sent around the world.

LET IT GROW
The 70 depended upon God for their provisions and protection. Heaven is available for all who repent, admit their sins, ask forgiveness. Peace can be for whomever will come. The invitation is open.

Witnessing is as easy as ABC:

A-admit you are a sinner
B-believe in your heart that Jesus is God's Son, died as your sacrifice for your sins
C-confess your sins.

We use this format in Vacation Bible School. Even children can understand it. My friend, have you sone those things yet? Jesus loves you so much that He took your place in punishment for your sins.

Peace is waiting as you surrender to Jesus as a follower.

LET IT GO
Only Jesus paid the price for me.
Only His love can set me free.
Nobody else could open heaven's door.
Just Jesus and nothing more.
