Freedom

O. T. 1169 "Freedom"
March 14, 2018
Psalms 2
Serve the LORD with fervent fear, and rejoice with trembling. But what joy for all who take refuge in Him!  Psalms 2:11, 12d

LET IT GLOW

Why do men/nations rebell against God? They do not want Him to rule over them. The heathens don't like constraints that God's law, Bible morality, or Christian conduct which He has established for us in our lifestyle. They want the freedom to live as they desire, what feels right to them.

God has anointed Christ as the King of the earth. Anointing was conferred upon priests, prophets, and kings. Only Jesus Christ can claim all 3 offices. David was promised a descendent of his would rule upon the throne forever, to bring the Messiah through his bloodline.

We obtain freedom from the reign of sin when we wholeheartedly love and serve God. We are free to be what He made us to be. If only others would submit to God. Then they would enjoy this freedom.

LET IT GROW

In verses 10-12, there are 5 important instructions given:

  1. Be wise.
  2. Be instructed.
  3. Serve the Lord.
  4. Rejoice.
  5. Kiss the Son. Embrace Him as Savior.
Are we looking for joy in our life? Take refuge in Jesus.
Psalms 46:1 tells us God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble.

Are we desiring freedom? Cling to Jesus.

LET IT GO

Let Jesus be my refuge, freedom, King of my heart.
Wholeheartedly serve Him.
