Psalm 135
Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did He in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places. Psalm 135:6
LET IT GLOW
Praise the Lord! This is a Hallelujah psalm, which is likely to have been composed during various periods of Israel's history. Probably it was from Hezekiah to the days after the Exile. We can assume they were written for Temple worship of God. (Falwell)
How is God's character described?
- good (verse3)
- a pleasant name (verse 3)
- great (verse 5)
- above all gods (verse 5)
- Sovereign ruler over creation (verses 6-7)
- worked in lives of Israeli kings and Pharaoh and nations (verses 8-12)
LET IT GROW
Praise the LORD.
Five times we read that phrase in just the first three verses. It is not meant for only our spiritual leaders, but for all to praise our Lord Jesus. We can do it standing in the House of God, within its courts, and anywhere. His glorious name is worthy of our praise, for it is pleasant and He is good.
We can sing His praises, shout out His praises, speak of how Great our God is. May our eyes be opened today so we see how great our God is.
That is our challenge for today-praise ye the LORD.
LET IT GO
Heavenly Father, You are so awesome, gracious, merciful, mighty to save, live-giver, forgiver, glorious, and beautiful. And I praise You
Hallelujah!
