Clothed With Shame

O.T.#1389  "Clothed with Shame"

Psalm 132-Part 2

LET IT GLOW

Step 13: The Lord is my help. (verses 11-18)

God is always a promise keeper. He made a covenant with David which was conditional. There would always be a one of David's line sitting upon the throne of Israel, ruling. Jesus was one of those of the lineage of David. One day, He will sit upon the throne of David as He rules for a thousand years in Jerusalem. God has fulfilled His vow to David, since Christ will reign forever.

Now this covenant was conditional according to verse 12-they must keep God's covenant and decrees. God's grace was shone many times when Israeli kings went astray and worshiped foreign gods, but there was a remnant that stayed true and were covenant-keepers.

In speaking of Jerusalem, the city of David, Zion, what does God say He will do in verses 15 and 16:
  • He will abundantly bless the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
  • He will satisfy the hungry.
  • He will clothe with salvation.
  • Godly people will shout for joy.
What more could we need? Spiritually speaking, we are children of Abraham and David, when we become saved.  Are we teaching our lineage to worship only Jesus?

Are we promise keepers?
Are we obedient to God's Word?
Do we sing our hearts out, praising our Savior?

LET IT GROW

Got any enemies? Look at verse 18a, His enemies will I clothe with shame...

They are going to be dressed in dirty rags of shame. Their sins will not be covered with the blood of Jesus because they did not believe in Him. Thus, they will be clothed with shame. What a contrast with the robes of white for the priests to be clothes.
Let us be faithful servants of the King Jesus and not be ashamed with this life is over.

LET IT GO

Thank You Jesus for providing a way for me to be a part of Your family.
May I and my lineage always worship and serve You.
