Happy People

Psalm 144-Part 3
Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.
Psalm 144:15

LET IT GLOW

What makes you happy? I like being able to give gifts to people, making them happy. That is a blessing which makes me happy. Also, when my relationship with God is one of closeness. I am learning to walk and talk with Him throughout the day.

David describes happy people. What would be the conditions which result in happy people?
Happy people would have prosperity in their nation. (God provides that.)
Happy people would have God as their Lord.

so if folks want to be happy, then they should stay in communion with Jesus. That entails confessing of sins, yielding the will to Him, following in obedience. Letting Him be Lord of our life, not us.

LET IT GROW

David's prayer for the wicked to be removed and the gracious presence of God in Israel. This would result in 7 blessings for the Jewish people:

1. Sons would grow as well-nurtured plants. (healthy, strong, handsome) (verse 12)
2. Daughters would be like graceful pillars, carved to beautify a palace. (beautiful in body and mind) (verse 12)
3. Storage bins would be filled with crops of every kind. (verse 13)
4. Flocks of sheep would be as plenteous as tens of thousands in the fields. (verse 13)
5. Oxen be strong to carry loads of produce. (verse 14)
6. No enemies breaking through the walls of Jerusalem. (verse 15)
7. There be no cry of sorrow in the streets. (verse 15)

That sounds like prosperity for the people to enjoy. Since David prayed for his nation in that way, maybe we could do the same, praying for Israel.

Thank Him for the blessings He has given to me.
Then be a blessing to others.
