Ezekiel 44-Part 4

LET IT GLOW

The writer of Psalm 67 prays that God would be merciful to His people and bless them. (verse 1)

God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause His face to shine upon us.

Why would he do ask this? It is so that His way may be known on the earth and His salvation among the nations. (verse 2) We are to give God the glory when He showers us with blessings, as well as pray for the salvation and discipleship of others. So, God does not bless us for our sake, but so that we might be a blessing to others, leading them to put their faith in Jesus Christ, to glorify God, and to live their lives in joyful obedience to Him. [Resource: The Tony Evans Bible Commentary]

Are we blessing others? Do we share the goodness He give us? Are we praising and thanking God for all He gives us?

LET IT GROW

And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession. (verse 28)

We have been learning about the duties of the priests during the Millennial reign of Christ on earth. Back in Deut. 18, the priests were to not own land, for their inheritance was the priesthood. The Lord Himself was all they would need. They are to be sustained on the offerings, things dedicated to the Lord, first fruits, and the contributions of God's people. And it will be the same way during this future time.

First, God is their inheritance, which refers to something inherited; estate; occupancy; heirloom.

  • Believers today have an inheritance in Christ, in heaven. (Ephesians 1:11)
  • We are partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light, so give thanks to the Father. (Colossians 1:12)
  • Jesus is our Mediator of the New Testament, and we will receive the promise of eternal inheritance. (Hebrews 9:15)

Second, God is their possession, something seized; especially of land.

  • The Spirit is God's guarantee that He will give us the inheritance He promised and that He has purchased us to be His own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify Him. (Ephesians 1:14)
  • Jesus is the possession of the Gentiles, you and me. (Acts 7:45)

Friend, have you accepted Jesus as your Savior? If so, then you have an inheritance in heaven eternally with your Savior.

Of all the things we possess, Jesus is our number one most prized possession.

LET IT GO

Jesus, we bless and praise You for only You are worthy.

Thanks  to  Jesus for eternal life You have provided for us.
