O. T. #1689 "Words and Ways"

Isaiah 55-Part 2
For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. (verse 8-9)
LET IT GLOW
Looking back over this chapter, we see that God has prepared a feast for our soul, if we will only listen to what His Word has to say and apply it in our lives. It will be food and drink for our soul and life that will be satisfied. Now, this feast is free to us, but was costly for our host as He paid for it with the blood of the Servant Jesus Christ. It requires an RSVP, reserved through salvation in God's Son. We can feast on the Words of Life, which is Jesus Christ Himself, and enjoy the blessings of David.
Will we come to the Word, seek His Ways, and call upon Him? His Words give us wisdom and the answers we desperately need, then we can please God and give Him glory with our life.
There is a contrast between God's thoughts and mankind's thoughts.
Our thoughts are: finite, limited, have a beginning, evil, vain, worth nothing, think we can save our self, and works of righteousness are sufficient to justify us.
God's thoughts are: infinite, unlimited, have no beginning, not evil but holy, have a purpose, worth everything, can save us, and show us His righteousness.
There is no one like our God. His thoughts are holy with acts of grace, abundantly pardons all returning sinners with great crimes and small sinful thoughts, for He is ready and willing to forgive and forget our sins. God forgives freely, fully, without reserve or private grudge, and forgettfulness.
How thankful we are for God's Word to us!
LET IT GROW
Secondly, there is a contrast between God's ways and mankind's ways
Our ways are unholy, crooked, ways of darkness, not pleasant, thus lead to death.
God's ways are holy, plain, ways of light, pleasant, and lead to life.
Human ways are based on what seems fair. Our right ways get rewarded and blessed; our wrong ways get consequences and punishments. When God allows unfair treatment to occur, it is for profound and deep reasons. (Swindoll)
As we seek the Lord through His heavenly Word, it touches our dry soul and waters it like rain waters the seeds, then brings forth life as flowers and food. (verse 10)
The Word of God brings life wherever it lands.
Verse 11 tells us that His Word goes out of God's mouth as He sends it out, always produces fruit, accomplishes all He wants it to, and will prosper everywhere God sends it. The Word of God does not return to Him void (in vain). (verse 11)
LET IT GO
You have been my Savior, Sustainer, when I'm at my end;
my Healer, Redeemer, again and again.
You are my strength, my rock, Jesus;
everything I've needed, Lord, You've always been.
You are the Word of Life.
How wonderful and awesome You are!
Please forgive us of our sins today.
