Isaiah 57
I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners. (verse 18)
LET IT GLOW
What three things does God say to Israel that He will do since He has seen their sinful ways?
- First, God will heal them.
- Next, God will lead them.
- Last, God will restore comforts to their mourners.
Are you in need of healing, leading, or comfort, friend? Jesus is the way.
LET IT GROW
Back in verses 16 and 17, God warns that He will not always contend for ever (referring to the outward manifestation of God's wrath), neither will He always be wroth (angry; displeased; provoke to wrath) against those whose spirit would fail (faint) before His presence.
God was angry, so He punished those greedy people. He withdrew from them, but they kept going on their own stubborn way. (Falwell)
However, God said that He would revive (restore) His people when they set aside their idols and totally depend upon the Lord God Himself.
God is the One who brings peace to a troubled heart. Anyone in need today?
LET IT GO
Gracious Father, please heal our sin-sick nation.
Lead us in Your righteous ways.
Comfort those who mourn today.
Thank You for mercy.
