Matthew 13-Part 12

LET IT GLOW

Did you realize that you are a treasure which Jesus bought and hid with Himself in God? Treasure refers to a deposit; wealth. (verse 44) Believers in Jesus are His treasure, the thing He treasures. He counts us as His wealth. What an encouragement. We are priceless. (So precious that its value cannot be determined.)

The sixth parable Jesus taught, second to the disciples, 

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls. Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. (verses 45-46)

The merchant man is Christ who comes to purchase, through His atonement, sinners who shall become goodly pearls. The one pearl of great price is the church for who Christ gave His life. (Falwell)

Are you involved in a church?

On the other hand, people are seeking that jewel of tremendous price to make them rich and happy forever. They look for it in philosophy, science, fame, wealth, technology, art, music, literature, and religion.  A true Christian is a spiritual merchant, that seeks and finds this pearl of great price. Jesus Christ is that pearl. He makes us spiritually rich, giving us blessings and wisdom. We must be willing to part with all for Jesus, leave all to follow Him. There is only one pearl of great price in this world-Jesus Christ. 

 do you know Jesus as your Savior? Are we willing to cheerfully surrender what stands in opposition to Christ? Will we stop that sin which prevents us from wholly giving our all to Jesus?

How marvelous You are, Jesus!

Thank You that salvation is free to us, not worked for, nor obtained by anything we could do.

How wonderful is the Pearl of Great Price!
