Ezekiel 36

LET IT GLOW

In Psalm 45, David writes a song to the sons of Korah:

Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; the scepter of Thy kingdom is a right scepter. Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. (Psalm 45:6-7)

Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever. (verse 2)

With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace. (verse 15)

Do we have the oil of gladness, grace in our words, and rejoice, as well, glad that we are a child of the King, King Jesus?

LET IT GROW

As we read this long chapter, we see a picture of Israel's restoration to have favor both in God's eyes and among the nations that had ridiculed and attacked it.  In Ezekiel's prophecy, he said that Israel would return to their land (which was after 70 years) and restored as a nation. We know this happened. In the first seven verses, God judged those nations. Israel's enemies challenged not only their boundaries, but also God's promises to Israel. Then in verses 8-15, His people are restored, physically and spiritually. God was going to protect His Holy name and Israel would know He alone is the One True Living God. God was concerned with salvation not only of His people, but also of the whole world.

For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and shown. (verse 9)

What would increase in Israel? The people, the animals, fruit, and cities would increase.

I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. (verse 11c)

Israel recovered from the captivity, from the Roman rule, and attempts to be conquered. They have experienced living in their Promised Land, although smaller. And it is a beautiful land given to them as a gift from God.

I know this verse was spoken to the remnant Jews with Ezekiel in Babylon, but it is the verse I have been looking for as a confirmation that we are doing the right thing by selling our farm. (It has been in my family around 70 years.) Houses are being built all around us, so it isn't much of a farm atmosphere. It has been a very difficult decision to make for all of us. But I felt the Lord said it was time to sell. So I know He has something better out there for us, a wonderful house to live in.

Settle means to sit down (in quiet); to dwell; to remain; make to keep (house) in the Hebrew language.

Better refers to a good thing; beautiful; fine precious; loving; best.

So while we are waiting for the developer to decide that this is do-able for them to build many house on, we have been looking for us a house to move to. When it is the right house that God has for us, we will know it. I kept praying that God will lead us to it. Then we find it, we will know it is it. We already know that He is LORD. In the meanwhile, we keep serving the Lord where He has placed us.

Friends, we have a beautiful place to which we will spend eternity. It will be the best that Jesus has to offer. Are you headed to heaven? Jesus is The Way and the only way. Believe in Him today, ask Jesus to forgive your sins, and to be your Savior so you are.

LET IT GO

King Jesus, You are so righteous, faithful, loving, gracious, and merciful.

Fill us with joy today so we can honor You.

Thank You that the best is yet to come.
