What He Says, He Will Do

O. T. #1879  "What He Says, He Will Do"

Ezekiel 12-Part 3

For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord God. (verse 25)

LET IT GLOW

Do you ever doubt that you heard right or understand what God is saying to you? The people of Judah seemed to have that problem when Ezekiel prophesied to them, telling what God said to them. Read the key verse above.

What do we learn from this verse?

  • God is the LORD, Jehovah, which means the self-Existent or Eternal.
  • If He says it, it will happen, for Jehovah's Word comes to pass.
  • There will be no more delays nor shall it be prolongs.
  • The Lord, Adonay (Ad-o-noy') which means my Lord in sovereign, strength, power, will fulfill His Word in their lifetime, not in the distant future.
  • When He says it, He performs it.

When God says it, I believe it, and that settles it. the Word of God is truth; Jesus is Truth; He keeps His Word, therefore, I believe what He says in His Word.

Such grace and mercy of God when we do not get punishment for our sins. It was unbelief and false security that led Judah to believe it would never happen. Since we don't know how much time we have to live, everyone should get right with God now.

It is appointed for people to die once-and after this, judgment. (Hebrews 9:27)

See, now is the acceptable time; now is the day of salvation! (2 Cor. 6:2)

Dear friend, are you ready for eternity? Jesus has made the Way. No one comes to the Father except through Him. Is Jesus your Lord?

LET IT GROW

False prophets told the people of Judah what they wanted to hear (no doom coming) or gloom would not come in their lifetime. (Jeremiah 14) However, the prophet warned them the sword and famine would come. And it did come. When God's hand used the enemy as His rod of correction, only a few in Judah were left. The delay of 6 years, some commentaries say, gave the people a false impression that judgment would never come. But it came in their lifetime as fulfillment of the godly prophets predictions. After all, God gave them the visions, so of course it would happen as they predicted.

The people had a proverb, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth.

But the Lord God said that proverb would cease and be used no more; they would say, the days are at hand, and the effect of every vision. (verse 23)

LET IT GO

Jesus, give us faith to believe that what You say, You will do.
