N.T.#657 "Who is Your King?"

Luke 23-Part 6
LET IT GLOW
Who is your king? Is it you, your family, your job, or Jesus? Whom do you serve, love, and give?
One on the left and one on the right. Jesus was in the midst, One who knew no sin, crucified between two criminals. (John 19:18) Jesus came to open the door of divine forgiveness for all who would receive Him, He pleaded for mercy for His executioners, for they didn't know what they were doing-killing the Messiah, the Savior, the Creator of them, the One who held their eternal life in His hands. They did not believe this. As sinners mocked Him our Savior interceded for them so that they might repent and be saved.
How could a dead Savior succumbing to death, became our death, our King crucified, yet we know the rest of the story. Jesus didn't stay cold in the tomb. He arose on the third day, just as He had said He would! Halleluiah!
What did those Roman soldiers do?

- They mocked Jesus.
- They offered Him vinegar, wine mingled with myrrh, to lessen the torture. (Mark 15:23)
- And saying, If thou be king of the Jews, save thyself. (verse 37)
- They gambled for Jesus clothes. (Psalm 22:18; Mark 15:24)
- the universal tongues;
- the official language of the Roman Empire;
- the official speech of the Jews. (Liberty Bible Commentary)
