How to be Prepared

 N.T.#642 "How to be Prepared"

Oct. 1, 2025

Luke 21-Part 4

LET IT GLOW

Do you need something to never change nor disappear? Did you find it comforting that God's Word will never pass away? If there is something we need to remain the same, never change, nor cease to exist, it is the Word of God. Right? Heaven and earth will pass away, but not His Words. That includes the Promises of God and His Commandments. (verse 33) That tells me that God's love always is, He never leaves me, He will always take care of me. When friends and family desert me, there is One who will never walk away-my Heavenly Father and Savior. I find comfort in that. Don't you?

Then Jesus gives warnings to His followers:

  • Don't let your heart be weighed down, dulled, overcharged (to burden) with
  • surfeiting (a headache (as a seizure of pain) from drunkenness),
  • with drunkenness,
  • and with cares of the world. (verse 34)
  • Don't let that day catch you as a snare (a trap).
The day of the Great Tribulation is coming on those who live on the earth. I wonder if an antichrist is going to use AI to control the world and its people. Are we warning people of the Great Judgment ahead? Are we telling them about the forgiveness and love that Jesus offers them?

LET IT GROW

How did Jesus encourage His followers?
  • Stay alert to the happenings around us and signs which He foretold.
  • Watch and pray always. (verse 36)
In other words, stay at the tasks fulfilling our responsibilities, not become complacent or distracted by meaningless activity. Keep your life in order and be ready for difficulties, persecution and even martyrdom. Be looking up for our Redeemer. Is our life glorifying God? How is our schedule, bank account, priorities? Will we be affirmed or apologetic when we stand before our Lord Jesus? Be prepared.

LET IT GO

What are the most important things to you?
Anything we need to let go of today so we can better serve Jesus?
