N.T.#503 "Does Jesus Come to Your House?"
March 10, 2025
Luke 4-Part 10
LET IT GLOW
What happens when Jesus comes to your house? Is He welcome? Is Jesus an honored guest or is He turned away?
We left Jesus at Simon Peter's house healing the sick and diseased, as well as Peter's mother-in-law. Jesus healed them all. No one went away unhealed that night. Who else was healed? Those possessed by demons were delivered by Jesus. What were those demons crying who were sent out of those people?
Thou art Christ the Son of God. (verse 41a)
Those demons knew who Jesus Christ was/is. He is the Messiah, yet Jesus rebuked them and refused to let them speak.
Jesus waged war on evil throughout the night, receiving all who came for relief, and healing each individual merely for the sake of love. He demonstrated that the Lord possessed authority over evil and the problems they caused (human suffering). Both submit to Jesus' Word. (Swindoll)
Jesus treated each person individually face-to-face. He went outside where the people were. That is how He deals with us, individually. Jesus loves you and me. He knows what is going on in each of our lives. Have you had a touch from Jesus today? We are each important to Him. He doesn't turn us away.
LET IT GROW
So why did Jesus silence the demons?
- Jesus showed His authority over them.
- Jesus wanted His listeners to believe He was the Messiah because of His words, not because of the demons' words.
- Jesus was going to reveal His identity according to God's timetable, and He would not be pushed by Satan's evil plans.
- Jesus came to be the suffering servant before He became the great King. He didn't want the people to have the wrong expectations of why He came to do. (Life Application Study Bible)
