Who is Going to Heaven?

N. T. #81 "Who is Going to Heaven?"

May 31, 2023

Matthew 7-Part 9

Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven. (verse 21)

LET IT GLOW

We have pecan trees because we have seen them produce pecans. Other trees located beside them do not. We know which is which by the fruit they bear. so it is with people. Read on, friend.

Jesus is more concerned about our walk than our talk. He wants us to do right, not just say the right words. He desires a personal relationship with Him as our Lord and Savior. What pleases Him is our faith and obedience to do the will of the Father. We are to live by the Golden Rule, not just know it. We wank on the narrow way with Him, having good fruit. Sure, we fail at times, but we confess our sins and ask forgiveness. Obedience is a norm course of our life.

Are we lifting up the name of Jesus to others in our little world? Can others tell we are a Christian by our deeds?

 LET IT GROW

We should be fruit inspectors of our teachers, preachers, and leaders in our churches. False teachers show by their actions that they have never had a spiritual relationship with Jesus. (verses 19-20) Someone may call Jesus Lord, have a ministry that appears authentic, but lack good fruit. The worthless trees are teachers who teach false doctrine. We have several denominations who are teaching another word, another way of life. their words may sound good, but are not the Truth. We need discernment.

The King of kings will respond on the Day of Judgment, " Depart from Me, you lawbreakers, I never knew you." (verse 23) On the final day of reckoning God will settle all accounts, judging sin and rewarding faith.

Outward profession of religion will not get us to heaven, either. A sound brass or tinkling cymbal will only be a form of godliness, without the power. We are to be doers of the Word and not just hearers.

LET IT GO

Help our faith, love, obedience to grow stronger today.
