Hosea 3

LET IT GLOW

We don't know how long Hosea and Gomer had been married, nor how long she had been gone away, forsaking her marriage vows. She was a wife that betrayed her husband. If anyone had the right to divorce, he did, for she was living in adultery. (Deut. 24:1)  Yet he did not. How deeply crushed Hosea must have been by his wife's rejection and defection. Through it all, Hosea remained completely obedient to God. (Keep in mind that Hosea's marriage was an action sermon, demonstration Israel's situation as she was in idolatry, betraying God as they worshiped idols.

Then God gave Hosea another assignment, Go and love your wife again, even though she commits adultery with another lover. This will illustrate that the LORD still loves Israel, even though the people have turned to other gods and love to worship them.(verse 1, NLT)

It must have been very humiliating and painful for Hosea to this. How could give this man such a difficult task of His faithful prophet? By doing this, Hosea's life illustrated God's unquenchable love for faithless Israel.

So many have walked down this same path of hurt and humiliation. The Lord gives us strength, forgiveness, and renewed love, as well as direction. Each must seek His will in their situation and make their decisions in it.

LET IT GROW

Go yet, and love... (verse 1, KJV)

There are times that we must forgive another's sins and go, show love and forgiveness of Jesus through you to them.

Sometimes it is us that have left the Lord Jesus, straying into sin. We must them bring our guilty stains, seeking forgiveness, and our sin-sick soul to be washed with the blood of Jesus. Perhaps it is a loved one that is in this place in their life.

I John 1:9 says, If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The key is to confess. Then Jesus forgives and cleanses us.

LET IT GO

Help us to humble our self before you and confess our sins.

Thank You Jesus for Your forgiveness.

Help us to forgive others, even when they don't apologize.

May we go and love them today.
