Will God Answer?

N.T.#76 "Will God Answer?"

Matthew 7-Part 4

LET IT GLOW

We continue to learn how Jesus tells us to pray-ask, seek, knock. What happens when we ask God by faith? We receive. What happens when we seek? We find. What happens when we knock? It is opened up to us. (verse 7)

God makes us a promise here:

  • We do the asking and God does the giving. It is not lent to us nor sold to us, but given to us as a gift if God sees it is fit for us to have. God is all-knowing. He knows what is best for us. Also, He sees into our future, we don't. So we trust Him do the right thing. (There were some selfish prayers that I am glad God did not give to me.)
  • When we seek God's will about a matter or situation in our life, we will find His answer. He can direct circumstances, move hearts, get us where He wants us to be.
  • When we knock on heaven's door, it will be opened unto us-the door of mercy and grace.
Faith takes us to the throne of grace. Jesus intercedes for us to the Father. We submit to His will, give God the glory, love Him with all our heart. Isn't it amazing that we can communicate with a Holy God, the Creator of all things, One that loves and guides us with His eye?

When we pray, we receive, find, and have it opened to us. (verse 8) Does it get any better?

So why do we not pray more? Take the hard and easy things of life to Him more often?
Keep praying friends. In His time and in His way God will answer. My prayer for 46 years was that God would give me a son, and like Hannah, I would give him back for God's service, kingdom work. Last Sunday, we witnessed our son being ordained as a deacon. And, my husband got to baptize our granddaughter. Our cup of blessings run over! she was saved 5 years earlier at our VBS one summer.
Praise the Lord!

LET IT GROW

Sometimes God's answers to our prayers are no or wait instead of yes. So we keep knocking, asking, seeking. Faith trusts our God to do what is right and just.

Then Jesus asked what father would give a son a stone or serpent when he asked for bread or fish to eat. Our heavenly father is above the earthly father, wh knows how to give good gifts. His love, goodness, tenderness excels that of earthly parents.

God wants our heart, devotion, relationship, love more than anything else in this world. Don't we need reminding of this? Yet, God is not a puppet to be controlled. He is in charge, not our flesh.

LET IT GO

Great is Thy faithfulness unto me.

Your mercies are new every morning.

Help us to depend upon You more, seek what You want us to do or what You want for us.

Be our Guide.
