N.T.#68 "Where is Our Focus?"

Matthew 6-Part 14
LET IT GLOW
What is our focus in life? Is it laying up treasures in heaven, doing God's will, or is it pleasures on earth?
In verse 22, we realize that a good heart is like a good eye. The eye is a gate that gives entrance to the mind of man. What we look at is what we think about, and what we think about is what we actually become.
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. (Proverbs 23:7a)
If we focus on Jesus Christ, who is the Light of the world, (John 8:12), then our mind and heart will be full of light. The deeds of our body will be the deeds of light. The singleness of the eye and heart means that a person sets his attention upon the Lord Jesus for the purpose of doing His will. (Acts 2:46; Eph. 6:5; Col. 3:22)
For the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Cor. 4:18)
Set your affections on things above, not in things on the earth. (Col. 3:2)
Where are our affections, heart, focused upon?

LET IT GROW
In order to focus on heaven and store treasure there, you have to see clearly. either we let light in through our eyes, or we remain in darkness. It's that simple. And unless our spiritual perspective is directed by God, we will wander in the dark. Few things can distract our spiritual focus and fill us with darkness as effectively as becoming a slave to money. The danger is when the money has us-the physical becomes more important than the spiritual. (Toney Evans)
I realize that we have to make a living. What he is asking is, "Where is our spiritual focus? Jesus or money?" Having money isn't the problem. The danger is when money has us.
LET IT GO
Keep our perspective, focus, and treasure in You, Lord Jesus.
Use believers to share the love and mercy and salvation of God.
