Drop Those Doubts and Trust Jesus

Matthew 8-Part 3

LET IT GLOW

It was the Sabbath and Jesus had been ministering in the synagogue. When we visited Israel, we went to Capernaum. There we found the remains of a synagogue and Peter's mother in law's house. Perhaps Jesus was very tired by this time, yet He took the time and energy to show compassion and touch Peter's wife's mother. She was an individual in a single home, where no crowds were, no publicity was, and certainly no recognition. He did what He could, forgetting about Himself. Jesus touched the woman and she was healed immediately. She arose and ministered to Jesus. Probably she fixed dinner for her guests.

The rest and peace and quiet did not last long. That evening many people came to Jesus that were possessed with devils and He cast them out with His Word. He healed all from their sicknesses. (verse 16)

We should not give up on the influences we have with others. Keep praying for them. Did you see the word all? That can include you and me. However, some folks are not completely healed until they reach heaven. God gets more glory from that.

We can count on Jesus to take care of us, in His way, at His time, as He pleases. Don't be afraid to ask.(Swindoll)

LET IT GROW

In verse 17, Matthew is quoting part of the prophet Isaiah in 53:4, Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. (KJV)

The New Living Translation says weaknesses and sorrows.

Jesus has met the needs of individual, families, and multitudes, and continues to do so. He has proven His Messiahship in doing so. We cannot be too poor or unimportant for Jesus to visit us and help us.

But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (Matt. 9:13)

Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matt. 11;28)

Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

Lord Jesus is intimately interested in the details of our lives-disfigured lepers, servants of pagans, family members of believers, and all who are physically and spiritually afflicted. The love and power of Jesus is like no other we have heard or seen before. It is inexhaustible. Jesus is ready to hear us when we call.

LET IT GO

Just now let your doubtings drop, just now reject Him no more, just now throw open the door of your heart. Let Jesus come into your heart.

How faithful and merciful You are Sweet Jesus!
