Ezekiel 20-Part 2

LET IT GLOW and GROW

There is a phrase repeated in this chapter. God did some things in Israel's history that God did so that ye may know that I am the LORD your God. What did He do?

• Verse 5-God made Himself known when the Hebrews were slaves in Egypt as He performed those 10 plagues upon Egypt. Each plague showed that a particular god of Egypt had no power like the Lord. He was and still is superior, like no other.
• Verse 7-God told Israel to get rid of their vile images with which they were so obsessed. They were told to not defile themselves with the idols of Egypt. While Moses was up on Mt. Sinai with God, the people made a golden calf, so that was why God gave that direction.
• Verse 20-When Israel followed God, they kept His decrees, regulations, and kept His Sabbath day holy, then they pleased God.
• Verse 26-God allowed the people to rebel against His instructions, go their own way, so He might devastate and remind them who He was.
• Verse 38-God was going to bring Israel out of their rebellion and the countries where they were in exile. He would purge them.
• Verse 42-One day God's people would return to Jerusalem and worship the One True Living God there. They would bring offerings, gifts, and sacrifices that are pleasing to God.
• Verse 44-They will know He is the Lord when God honors His name and treats Israel mercifully in spite of their wickedness.

Do you know God is the Lord? Is He your Lord?
