Jeremiah 29-Part 3
And then shall ye call upon Me , and ye shall go and
pray unto Me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye
shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for
Me with all your heart. (verses 12-13)
LET IT GLOW
Here it is friend, words for such a time as this from Joni
Eareckson Tada. She has spent about the last 50 years of
her life in a wheelchair due to being a paraplegic. What
insights she has.
In her devotional book, Diamonds in the Dust, Joni says:
Because God is love, His plan can only be loving. Because
God is good, His intentions for you are of the highest good.
Because He is the Lord of Hope, His purpose is to always
give you hope. He can never be (or do) less than He is.
God can only permit in your life those trials that, with His
grace, you are able to handle. That includes everything from
emotional pain to physical peralysis. And this is why you
have the assurance that His plans only mean spiritual
prosperity for you and a hopeful future.
Isn't that good?
Now read our key verses. What is it that God says He
will do?
He will hearken (hear, listen, regard) when we pray and
He will be found when we seek and search for Him.
What a comfort to us. We have the assurance that the
Creator of all things and Sovereign Lord loves us so much
that He will listen to our requests, cries, and utterances shall be
available to us, His children.
Even when we can't put into words our heavy burdens, the Holy
Spirit interceeds for us. He makes intercession for the saints
according to the will of God. (Romans 8:26-27)
So don't hesitate to pray, dear one. Our loving Heavenly Father
listens and hears us.
LET IT GROW
Now friend, God's hearing us is conditional. What is required
of us in order for God to hear our prayers? We find the answer
in verse 13:
- When we seek Him. Seek means to search out (by any method, specifically in worship or prayer); ask; beg; inquire; request.
- When we search for God. Search means to tread frequent; usually follow; to seek or ask; to worship; inquire; question.
- When we seek God and search for Him with all our heart.
In order to find God and have Him hear our prayers, we must do so
wholeheartedly. We must commit our hearts to the Lord Jesus 24/7.
We worship and obey Him through our day-to-day walk with Him.
He is ready to communicate with us and even reverse our circumstances.
It is more than Sunday church attendance, tapping our feet to the music,
hearing a sermon, and amening it. (Tony Evans)
Are we seeking God with all our heart? Are we diligently searching for
His will so we can do it?
When we do, we will enjoy the blessings of finding God,
and having our prayers answered.
LET IT GO
Thank You Father for hearing our prayers and answering them according to
Your will.
How loving You are!
Keep us seeking You with all of our heart.
Please all who read this today.
Fill with hope.
