Summary of Proverbs-Part 6
There seem to be some themes as we review Proverbs. There are some wise tidbits for raising children, as we begin with chapter 22:
- Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (v.6)
- Even a child is known by his doing, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right. (20:11)
- Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. Physical discipline may well save them from death(v. 15)
- For their (the fatherless) Redeemer is mighty; He shall plead their cause with thee. (23:11)
Whether we have children or grandchildren in our world, they need discipline, lest they go the way of evil. They need love and reassurance that God loves them, too.
As children of God, keep in mind that we need discipline, also. His love never fails, it never gives up, never runs out on me.
