Failed Dreams and Hope

 O. T. #2334

Dec. 7, 2022 "Failed Dreams and Hope"

Summary of Zechariah

It is good to have hope. But putting our hope in plans, expectations, dreams, outcomes, jobs, bank accounts, medicine, people, timelines, and any of those things can wander off, fall through, disappear, taking your hope with them. We're not meant to find hope in anything in this world; we are meant to lose hope in all the things here. Hope Himself never looses track of you. Jesus our Hope is the one constant you can count on because you can count on Jesus constantly with you. (Waymaker by Ann Voskamp)

As we continue reviewing verses, here are some I highlighted:

Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassions every man to his brother. And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor: and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart. (7:9-10)

God's standards have not changed. We can't be right with God if we aren't right with people in our life. Let us consider the reason behind our giving to others-love or recognition? Are we showing mercy and compassion as we shop this season?

All this may seem impossible to you now, a small remnant of God's people. But is it impossible for Me says the LORD of Heaven's Armies? (8:6)

He is speaking about the time of the Millennial reign of Christ. Peace in the streets and with enemies? Nothing is impossible with God. (Luke 1:37)

O house of Judah, house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong. (8:13b)

God gives rich rewards and blessings when we are obedient and faithful to Him-tell the truth, exercise justice, and love peacefully.

Rejoice, O people of Jerusalem! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet He is humble, riding on a donkey-riding on a donkey's colt. (9:9)

The Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem is recorded in Matt. 21:5; Mark 11:9; John 12:15.

God keeps His word and is faithful in doing what He has said. Are you ready for the rapturing of God's children from this world, friend? Asking Jesus into your heart to be your Savior and forgive your sins will be your ticket out of here when that time comes. Don't be left behind.
