Giving Thanks
Here are some verses in Psalm 113 that fits this time of year:
Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.
Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.
From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD's name is to be praised.
The LORD is high above all nations, and His glory above the heavens.
Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high,
Who humbleth Himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth! (verses 1-6)
God's name is the greatest. Do we glorify Him, making God look good to those who ignore Him, oppose Him, or do not know Him?
His throne is the highest. Are we exulting our King Jesus above all others?
The love and grace of God made Him stoop to our level as Jesus came to become one of us and die on the cross for us.
Think of Hannah (Samuel), Rachael (Joseph), Mary (Jesus), Elizabeth (John the Baptist).
No matter how dark the day or impossible the circumstances, our God is able to do the impossible. (Eph. 3:19-20)
Therefore, let us praise the God Most High, our Savior and Redeemer! There is no one like our God Jehovah!
