Witnesses

Isaiah 43-Part 3

LET IT GLOW

Looking at verses 11-13, what is God saying to Judah and to us?
  • He is the LORD, (Jehovah-Yeh-ho-vaw'  Self-Existent or Eternal); (verse 11)
  • Jesus is the only Savior (deliver; defend; preserve; rescue) beside Him there is no Savior; (verse 11)
  • God has declared, saved, and showed Himself on behalf of His people; (verse 12)
  • Before the first day of creation, God was. (verse 13)
  • He works. (verse 14)
Those may be a repeat, but that is how we learn and remember things.
In Exodus 3 and 4, in telling Moses that He would deliverance Israel from Egypt, God declared in advance. Then He delivered them as predicted. He did the same before the Babylonian captivity, which happened, and then they were delivered. So, we see that God keeps His Word. Who shall let (hinder) it? None.

Are we having hesitation in believing that God can deliver us from whatever is big in our life today? Take heed from God's Word-nothing is too difficult for God.

LET IT GROW

In verse 10 and verse 12, God says that we are His witnesses, which according to Webster's Dictionary, means to act as legal witness of; to furnish proof of; testimony; one who has personal knowledge of something.

The Tony Evans Bible Commentary states:
God calls for witnesses, which evokes the imagery of a courtroom (verses 9-10). He called on the nations to testify about the ability of their gods to declare former things (verse 9). Could their idols predict future events? Of course not. But Israel, His servant, was also called to testify; His people were also to function as witnesses (verses 10,12). They could say that the Lord-and not some foreign god-had alone saved. Israel knew this, and their very existence proved God's declaration. God is the only Savior-for Israel and for the world: Besides Him, there is no Savior (verse 11). To look anywhere else for salvation is to look in vain.
Amen!
What kind of witness are we? Are we sharing the truth about our Living God? What Has God done for us? Has He save our soul from hell? Then we should proclaim it.

LET IT GO
What a wonderful and powerful name it is, the name of Jesus!
Such love You showed me when You died on the cross to take my punishment for my sins!
Thank You for choosing me to be Your child!
Glory to God in the highest!
