Matthew 9-Part 13
LET IT GLOW
As we finish the nineth chapter, let's take a closer look at what Jesus was doing/the mission of the Messiah:
- Jesus went to the poor, obscure villages teaching in their synagogues.
- He was preaching the Gospel of the kingdom.
- He healed every sickness and disease. (verse 35)
- Jesus took notice of the multitudes.
- He was moved with compassion on the multitudes. (verse 36)
- He saw the crowds scattered, wandering around not knowing which direction to go (as sheep without a shepherd), having no faithful guides.
LET IT GROW
The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few. (verse 37)
God is Lord of the harvest. Ministers and Christians are the laborers, doing kingdom work as they share God's Word and salvation. We need the love and compassion of Christ as we go into the world with the Gospel. We need to pray for more people committed and faithful to the cause of Christ.
C.S. Lewis, a great Christian writer, said when it came to deciding who Jesus Christ was, we have only 3 choices-We could say He is a liar, a lunatic, or actually is Lord of Heaven and Earth.
Jesus was not insane or a deceiver, for He healed people and raised the dead. The truth is, it is by faith that we believe Jesus is the Son of God, the perfect Messiah, and compassionate Savior. I pray that is who Jesus is to you.
Are we ready to go as a worker for Jesus?
LET IT GO
Bless the Lord, oh my soul, bless His holy name.
Worship King Jesus, whose name is great, His heart is kind, compassionate, and forgiving.
Bless His holy name!
